At the Opposite End of the Spectrum

Tue Apr 28, 2009, 4:20 PM
  • Mood: Optimism
  • Listening to: Sirens in the city and the wind outside my window
  • Reading: Biology, Art History, French, oy vey...
The last time I wrote a journal, school was just about to start and I was frantically getting ready to leave in what... 24 hours from that time? Something like that.

Well, it's been almost an entire school year. Holy cow!

So, so much has happened. I don't want get all mushy and reminiscent yet, but I've had a lot of major realizations, life changes, and I've made some big decisions... mostly for the better. :)

But all that is very much a part of the larger picture. Focusing on the now, I just need to get through the end of the year. Ramp up on the homework and studying, pack... find a job for the summer. That's a big one. If I go back home to Chippewa, I have a free place to live (at my mom's), but the likelihood of finding a full-time summer job there is not so high. I'd have a better chance of finding one in Eau Claire, but since that's a good twenty minute drive away, that's almost impossible to do without a car.

On the other hand, if I stay in the cities, I can most likely find a job that I could even keep into next school year, something that would be really great since my current job is awesome but doesn't really pay the bills. But then I would have to find a place to live (and fast), and that costs money that I absolutely don't have yet.

And then I have to pay my tuition... I still owe about $5000 for Spring semester. Eek. And the find a place to live for next year. Eeeeek.

Sigh. I just have to trust that it will all happen as it should, and when. I'm trying to take things one day at a time and not be so anxious anymore. That took such a toll on my health... mental and physical. Since I've started seeing a therapist I've noticed a definite chance. It's good to be able to think clearly and not feel like my mind is racing all the time. :)

As far as my creative... stuff goes, I unfortunately haven't had much of a chance to take pictures or write. It's sad that it has to suffer, but it's just so hard to keep up with school, write, and do regular photography. I've had some great opportunities--like shooting inside the Saint Paul Cathedral--that I can't wait to share. Hopefully I'll have more this summer.

At any rate, I just noticed how long ago my last entry was and felt a need to do a little spilling onto the page. Look for some new photos... well, new to you all anyhow, I took the majority of them last summer and have been letting them sit before I did any work on them. I like to do that... start something, and then let it sit for a while. It's so much easier to see what could be better once it's been out of my head for a bit. That means it takes me forever to do anything, but... at least the end result is (usually) pretty good.

Out of my head... but never forgotten of course. :)
